Meet Our Staff

Dean Wimmer, Agency Principal, began his career with The Weimer Group in 1977 as office manager. Dean obtained his property/casualty insurance agent’s license in 1978, his life/accident/health agent’s license in 1980, and his insurance broker’s license in 1988. Dean also became a partner in the agency in 1988. In 1995, he earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) diploma and professional designation from The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. In 2004, he earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.

Dean has been actively involved in his church and community for many years. Dean is an active member of Pennsylvania Insurance Agents & Brokers and the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the board of directors of Penn View Christian School. Past community and professional involvement include: serving on the Agent’s Advisory Council to the Erie Insurance Group; Indian Valley Kiwanis Club, where he served as President; and Director of the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce. In addition Dean enjoys fishing, gardening, woodworking, and music.

David Beck, Agency Principal, was born and raised in Bucks County.  Dave began his professional career with The Weimer Group in July 1974 as a sales agent in the personal lines and life insurance departments.  In 1988 Dave became an agency partner and currently hold the title of Vice President.  He earned the prestigious designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)  in 1990 and holds a membership in the Certified Professional Insurance Agents Society.  He is also a Past-President of the Daniel Boone Coffee House Agents Advisory Group for The Erie Insurance Company.

Dave is an active member of Independent Agents and Brokers of PA, MD, & DE serving on the Member Agent Panel, and Pennridge Chamber of Commerce (PCC); serving as a director and chairperson for the Annual PCC Business Expo.  As well as his involvement in the Chamber, Dave is involved in many other community organizations such The Perkasie Lions Club where he served as their president.  He is a member of the MacCalla Masonic Lodge, Lehigh Consistory, Rajah Shrine.    Besides professional organizations, Dave is committed to hobbies that he enjoys.  He is active with Troop Committee for Troop 1 in Sellersville, PA and recently volunteered to assist the Bucks County Council BSA on the camping committee.  He is a charter member and past board member for the Victory Motorcycle Club and currently serves on the Board of the Blue Coment Motorcycle Club in Skippack, PA.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys woodworking, camping, shooting sport, and motorcycle.  He is married and has 2 children.

Michele Belair, Office Manager  of the Harleysville & Perkasie Office.  Michele began her career with The Weimer Group in 1985. She obtained her property/casualty insurance agent’s license in 1985, her life/accident/health agent’s license in 1986, and her certified insurance service representative (CISR) designation in 1991.  Michele was promoted to office manager of our former Elroy Office (now our Harleysville Office) in 1985, and took on the added responsibility of managing our Perkasie Office in 1994.  Michele has worked in every department learning the business from the ground up while managing the offices.  She also manages the marketing department which includes our social media – website, Facebook, and Twitter page, and the marketing in each department.  She is currently building our partner page on our website, and making videos for our partners.

Michele has been actively involved over the years with the school’s PTA, church, her children’s intermural baseball, and soccer teams, board member of a condo association, committee member for the North Penn Relay for Life, and  the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce and Pennridge Chamber of Commerce.  Michele really cares about people, and always does her best to help our clients and staff.  She strives to have a pleasant and productive working condition in both offices, and is very proud of her family at home and at work.    Michele’s passion is dancing – county, swing and ballroom. She also enjoys music, gardening, traveling, and taking pictures.

Margaret (Peg) Hoff, Information Technology Systems Manager, has been a resident of Bucks and Montgomery Counties for over 40 years.  She graduated from Pennridge High School in 1984 and began her insurance career as a clerk working after school  in 1983.  She officially joined The Weimer Group in 1985 when they purchased the former Robert L Mitchell Agency and became licensed in Property Casualty and Life/Accident/Health later that same year.  She was recently recognized by the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) for 20 years of service.   A true believer in the independent agency concept, Peg feels consumers are best represented by agents that can offer their clients the best coverage available at an affordable price.  After many years as an Account Manager, Peg was promoted to the Personal Lines Manager of our Perkasie office in 1994 and to IT Systems Manager in 2013.  She is responsible for managing the information technology for the agency.   Born in New Jersey and having a continued love for the Jersey shore, Peg specializes in the Coastal Property insurance for our clients by helping them meet their insurance needs.  Peg is also part of our social networking team.  She helps bring information that our clients will find fun and informative and is a frequent author on our blogs.

Apart from work, Peg is active in her community.  She is a former treasurer for her children’s elementary school, the Secretary for the Harleysville Eagles Youth Association, has served as Secretary for the Harleysville Girls Softball League, and is active with the Indian Valley Character Counts Coalition.  She enjoys spending time reading, trips to the Jersey shore, writing, listening to music, and spending time with her family, and her best friend…Daisy Mae, her faithful Cocker Spaniel.

Donna Bauer, Personal Lines Manager-  Donna joined our agency in 1986.  She is responsible for managing the performance and practices of the personal lines division of the Harleysville Office.  Donna became licensed in Property/Casualty and Life/Accident/Health and worked as an Account Manager before taking on her role as a Division Manager.  Donna believes those best in the insurance business continue their education and she became a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).  Donna has passed her belief that families should make sure they are prepared for those events that tend to be life’s surprises.  She has passed on this belief to her staff and continues to work with families making sure their insurance needs are met.  In 2013 Donna was promoted to Personal Lines Manager of both offices in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

She is a devoted wife and has 3 grown children.  The apple of her eye is her grand-daughter.  She enjoys traveling to upstate PA with her husband and faithful companion Izzy, getting together with her family, trips to the shore, and camping.  Her hobbies include baking and quilting.

Diane Caplan, Commercial Lines Manager.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, Diane graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School.  She has been a resident of Bucks County for many years and calls this area home.  Diane started her career with The Weimer Group in 1995 as a clerk and obtained her Property/Casualty license in 1996.  She became an Account Manager and worked closely with the Producer’s and Agency Principals helping to develop business relationship with our clients.  In 2001 Diane was promoted to Commercial Department Manager where she currently oversees the peformance and practices of her department.  Diane’s expertise is helping the small business owner obtain the best possible coverage for a reasonable cost.  At one time, a small business owner herself and a retail manager for a national women’s clothing store, Diane helps make sure her clients are aware of the needs and unique situations that they may be presented with.

In her spare time, Diane enjoys visiting museums, orchestral concerts, seeing United States sites, taking cruises, and Acadia National Park in Maine.  She is married and is a devoted mother to  two daughters, 2 step-daughters and a step-son, and grandmother to 12!  Her hobbies are interior decorating, pottery collecting, antiquing, spending time with her grandchildren and baking cookies.  In fact, every year many of our loyal customers enjoy the trays of cookies they are given as a way to say ‘Thank You’ for their business.

Shirley Barnes, Personal Lines Account Manager-Perkasie Division, has been a resident of Bucks County for 35 years.  Shirley has been an employee of The Weimer Group for the past 15 years.   When Shirley joined The Weimer Group in 1996, she brought along her experiences and degrees in the paralegal and accounting fields.  She was recently recognized by the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) for more than ten years of excellence in the insurance profession.  Shirley is licensed to engage in the business of insurance in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the lines of Casualty and Allied, Property and Allied, Accident and Health, Life, and Fixed Annuities.  Shirley is a member of the Personal Lines Department.

Scott Nace Commercial Lines Account Manager –  Scott joined The Weimer Group in 2013.  He brings 15-years of insurance knowledge and currently holds his Property/Casualty and Life/Accident/Health licenses.  Scott has lived in the community for many years and enjoys football.  He’s a big fan of the Steelers.

Christine Mayor Commercial Lines Account Manager – Christine joined The Weimer Group in 2013.  She is from the Hellertown area graduating from Southern Lehigh.  She brings 9-years of insurance experience and is licensed in Property/Casualty.  She enjoys fishing and spending time with her Franch Mastiff, MoMo.

Sherri Alderfer, Personal Lines Account Manager-Perkasie Division, is a resident of Perkasie, PA.  She graduated from Pennridge High School in 1985.  She proceeded to attend Cedar Crest College for her Bachelor’s degree in American and European History; Lehigh University and DeSales University for graduate degrees in History and Secondary Education.

Sherri joined The Weimer Group in 2002 as part of the Personal Lines team, responsible for sales and customer service.  She is licensed in Casualty and Property and Allied Lines of Insurance.  Sherri lives with her husband and daughter, Aislinn. She loves all things historical, gardening, and any good book that comes in to her hands.

Patty Schickling, Personal Lines Account ManagerHarleysville Division, I have been working in the insurance industry as a Personal Lines Account Manager for over 13 years.  I joined The Weimer Group in September 2002.

Maria Figueiredo, Personal Lines Account Manager – Harleysville Division, moved to PA in 1997 and joined The Weimer Group in 1998.  She has been involved in the insurance industry for over 25 years.

Betsy Hartman, Personal Lines Account Manager – Perkasie Division, has been a resident of Montgomery County for her entire life.  She graduated from Wissahickon Senior High School in 1975 and soonafter began her insurance career.  Betsy is licensed in Pennsylvania in Accident and Health, Property and Allied Lines, and Casualty and Allied Lines.  She joined The Weimer Group in 2009 as a Personal Lines Account Manager.

Valerie Pasco, Personal Lines Account Manager – Perkasie Division, grew up in Newtown and graduated in 2000 from Council Rock High School.  She has a BS in Health Science from Lock Haven University.  Valerie started with The Weimer Group in 2009 as our Receptionist.  She was then promoted to Personal Lines Assistant and became an Account Manager in 2013.  She currently lives in Hatfield with her husband Mike, 4 cats and a chinchilla.  In her free time she enjoys going to Flyers and Phillies games.  When not spending time with her friends or family, she can usually be found with her nose in a book or trying a new vegetarian recipe in her kitchen.

Brad Anderson, Commercial Lines Agent -of Perkasie Pennsylvania has joined The Weimer Group team as a Commercial Lines Insurance Specialist.  Graduating from Pennridge HS in 2000, Brad went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Kutztown University.  Brad has extensive experience in the Marine Industry as General Manager overseeing  Finance, Insurance, Sales, and Purchasing for D&S Boat Sales and Marina in Tullytown Pa.

Brad’s experience at D&S developed such a strong interest in helping people to understand insurance needs that he earned his Property, Casualty, Life, Health, and Securities Licenses.  Brad is very enthusiastic about his new career with The Weimer Group as they have unmatched experience in Commercial Lines Insurance. Brad is looking forward to growing with the agency and will be a valued resource in his relationship with businesses clients.  The Main Street Connection was co-founded by Brad and is a new style of networking intended to utilize social media and emerging technologies to educate both its members and their customers to effectively build the highest quality network for all the stakeholders.  Brad enjoys fishing, boating, and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
